They’re ready for their close-ups! Or not. Yeah, probably not. That’s because celebrities exhibited in this now-popular Tumblr blog ‘Celebrity Close-Up’ are probably in their least glamorous, most horrifying states of all time. The blog features all your favorite famous faces exceptionally close up. You might think this would give you a once-in-a-lifetime chance to feel super close to the celeb of your dreams. Alternatively, it’s really just a huge downer once you realize your celebrity crush is actually just as ugly as you, me, and the rest of the human race.
Scrolling through the hundreds of celebrity faces, you’re sure to find something up your alley. Celebrities ranging from teeny-bopping Robert Pattinson all the way to Hollywood heroes like Clint Eastwood, there’s a myriad of too-close-for-comfort faces that expose some very unsightly blemishes and wrinkles (Wow! Just like normal people). You can scroll through the library of HD celebrity mugs with ease, the Tumblog is quite user-friendly and even has a ‘Super-search’ tab where you can locate that creepily close image of your choice celebrity with no trouble at all.
To quote the blog’s description, they tote “More than 1,000 close-up photos of celebrity plastic surgery, hair transplants and weaves, acne, funny faces, tongues, bad makeup, bad teeth, nose hair and more.” So, think of it more of detective work than celebrity stalking and gawking. You’re basically looking for some sort of lost treasure in the craters of Lady Gaga’s blackhead holes or find some gold within the wrinkles of Donald Trump’s forehead.
Overall, this blog is a real fun waste of time, which we all undoubtedly need every so often. When you have some extra minutes to kill and some curiosity to spare, check out ‘Celebrity Close-up’ and explore the ugly truth of all humanity—makeup and Photoshop can only do so much, and up close we are all indeed quite ugly.
I think these pictures make the point pretty clear. Oh Sylvester, why so glum?
